950 Ceasefire Violation in Just Three Months Along the LoC

Minister of State for Defence said that there have been as many as 950 incidents of ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control (LOC) in the three-month duration from Aug-Oct. The matter has been taken up with the Pakistani authorities through the established mediums.


Crux of the Matter


  1. In the 950 ceasefire violations in the three-month duration, 79 have been reported along the border in Jammu alone.

  2. There have been three martyrs and seven injured as per the Minister of State for Defence.

  3. The Minister also stated that retaliatory action has been taken by the Indian Army.

  4. Established mechanisms like hotlines, flag meetings, talks with DG of Military Ops, et al. are being used to tackle the issue.

  5. The Minister also said that techniques like strategic troop deployments, hi-tech surveillance systems, and Anti Infiltration Obstacle System (AIOS) have been deployed to keep infiltration in check.
