Senior Indian journalist Aarti Tikoo Singh appeared before a US Committee on Human Rights and exposed Pakistan’s role in sponsoring violence and terrorism in the Kashmir valley since the last 3 decades. She got into a war of words with Democrat Ilhan Omar who accused the journalist of being biased.
Crux of the Matter
Ms. Singh appeared before US House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on Human Rights in South Asia, calling the hearing prejudiced against India.
She stated, “The 30 years of Islamic jihad and terror in Kashmir perpetrated by Pakistan has been completely ignored and overlooked by the world press.“
Radical Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar accused the journalist of making dubious claims to pander to her reader base in India.
Notably, another US Congressman Brad Sherman displayed his ignorance by questioning whether Srinagar is in Jammu.
After the hearing Ms. Singh tweeted “I wasn’t allowed to finish my speech, to raise points of objection, to rebut the untruths that Pakistan supporters peddled at the US Congressional hearing on human rights violations in South Asia. The far Left-Islamist nexus gagged me.”
