The Muslim Women Bill 2019 – In August 2017 the Supreme Court of India declared the triple talaq to be unconstitutional. The then Chief Justice of India, Jagdish Singh Khehar, asked Parliament to pass legislation governing marriage and divorce in the Muslim community. This bill was blocked by the opposition in Rajya Sabha in 2017. The bill was passed by Lok Sabha on 25th July 2019 and then by Rajya Sabha on 30th July 2019. More Info
