Angela Merkel’s Visit to India Signals Greater Bilateral Synergy

Bilateral trade, strategic cooperation, agriculture, cyber security and artificial intelligence were some of the main topics of discussion in the German Chancellor’s visit to India. The leaders are also said to have bolstered ties to combat terrorism.

  1. The German Chancellor landed in Delhi last Thursday.

  2. The visit with PM Modi has been most fruitful, with around 20 agreements signed, of varying disciplines.

  3. Terrorism and extremism were given high importance, and called on other nations to eradicate terrorism on their respective soils.

  4. A trade deal could be taken up between India and the European Union.

  5. Germany is especially keen in investing over 1 billion Euros in the automobile sector with an eye on environment-friendly urban mobility solutions.
