
Bajaj Auto marked its re-entry in the scooter arena after almost two decades with the launch of Bajaj Chetak Electric scooters.The production of the much speculated e-scooters started on September 25 2019, at the Chakan plant of Bajaj. Its digital bookings are expected to open at a token amount of ₹2000.
Crux of the Matter
The reputed company had stopped manufacturing scooters long back to focus only on motorcycles.
The deliveries of the first units will start from the end of January in Pune and Bengaluru, before it will be made available in other metropolitan cities.
The two variants of the electric Chetak are Bajaj Chetak Premium and Urbane . The former, priced at ₹1.15 lakh would be having front disc brake, chrome plated bezels, metallic color wheels and a designer stitch seat while the latter will contain front drum brakes, solid color wheels, Chrome plated bezels.
There would be a warranty of three years or 50,000 kms on the battery, with a driving range of 95 km in Eco mode and 85 km in Sports mode.
