
India-made satellite, Cartosat 3, has been rescheduled to be launched on Wednesday, 27th November. Along with it, the PSLV will carry 13 other satellites of different countries.
Crux of the Matter
It is the third-generation of the Earth-observation satellites used by ISRO. It weighs 1625 kilograms.
The satellite launch has been postponed to 9:28 AM on 27th November from 25th November. It will be launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. This launch will be India’s fifth for 2019.
Cartosat-3 is an advanced imaging and mapping satellite.
The high-resolution cameras of this satellite can assist in disaster management, water management, agriculture management, 3-D mapping, urban planning, et al.
Of the other satellites to be launched, 12 of them are Flock-4P satellites of the company Planet. These satellites are also used in imaging and mapping.
