Chandrayaan 2 left the earth’s orbit and began its journey towards the lunar orbit on Wednesday. It has been revolving around the earth for 23 days post launch. It aims to explore the South Pole of the moon, a region yet to be explored by humanity.

Chandrayaan-2 is India’s second lunar exploration mission. Developed by ISRO, the mission was launched on 22 July 2019 by a GSLV Mk III rocket. It consists of a lunar orbiter, a lander, and a lunar rover named Pragyan, all developed in India. The main scientific objective is to map the location and abundance of lunar water.
