
Delhi police staged protests against the violence that some of their comrades recently faced at the hands of certain lawyers of Delhi . The advocates have also taken to the streets, and are displaying a “show of might” against the Delhi Police.
Crux of the Matter
Delhi Police and the Advocates clashed on November 2 in front of the Tees Hazari court over an alleged dispute which led to gunshot injuries to a lawyer and a police van being burnt.
Lawyers have also taken to the street, and are destroying police properties. Several instances of assault against Police personnel and civilians have also come forward.
Delhi Police Commissioner Patnaik says “FIR has been registered in the incidents in which police personnel were assaulted. We are addressing the anger (of police personnel) caused by these incidents. Discussions are underway, senior officials are addressing all the concerns.”
