Experience Mumbai Metro-3 via Virtual Reality

In a first of its kind experience, a group of filmmakers from the Whistling Woods Jio VR Lab will be shooting time-lapse videos of the on going construction of Colaba – Bandra – Seepz 33.5km Metro-3 Line in Mumbai.


Crux of the Matter


  1. A group of seven filmmakers will shoot Virtual Reality videos of the making of the fully underground metro line over the next two years.

  2. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) believes that this is expected to have a tremendous viewership value and they will be also putting out videos to update citizens about the work progress.

  3. Team is currently doing a recce of the various sites to shoot time-lapse videos of the stations and the tunnels.

  4. Chaitanya Chinchlikar, VP at Whistling Woods International a Film Institute in Mumbai said, “the project has been undertaken as an academic endeavour, and the footage will be made available for public consumption later”.

  5. Whistling Woods has proposed to film 360-degree VR videos of Metro-3 sites to apprise students with the scale of the project and how systematically the work is being done.
