In order to enable peaceful transition to normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir the government has been focusing on handling 4 specific groups known for catalysing volatility in the region.


Crux of the Matter


  1. To avoid violence, the Indian government has been easing J&K’s transition to normalcy after revocation of Article 370.

  2. Kashmir has a history of Pakistan sponsored cross border terrorism since the last 3 decades.

  3. Separatists like Hurriyat leaders have been put under house arrest.

  4. Army has been given free hand to deal with terrorists.

  5. Stone pelters and religious leaders have been extended an olive branch while maintaining that anti-national activities will be dealt with harshly.
