Crux of the Matter
NavIC-based GPS trackers that are in tandem with the Automotive Industry Standards (AIS) -140 have been mandated by the government.
The NavIC-based positioning system will be a part of the upgraded mobile models.
India’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) will be able to incorporate this tracking system as it has been approved by the 3GPP (Third Generation Project Partnership).
The use of NavIC can be extended up to drones, forestry, surveying, timing solutions, et al.
