Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy beat out Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun and Article 15 to be selected as India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards. The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer is set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s Gully Rap movement and based loosely on the life of rapper Naezy.
