Thousands of dissenters flooded the roads of Hyderabad with the Indian flag to show their discontent against the CAA, NCR, and NPR. The protest was carried out in a peaceful manner.
Crux of the Matter
The protest was organized by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee. The crowd demanded CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao of Telangana to announce that NPR will not be executed in the state.
Hyderabad police rejected the application for protests but the organizers somehow managed to get permission for it by appealing to the high court of Telangana.
Permission was given to gather up to only 1000 people but the number of people marching throughout the city forming a long human chain was much more than expected.
Protests were also seen holding various banners like “united against hate” and “we won’t show documents”. During the march, protesters were also chanting slogans like “Tanashahi nahi chalegi” and “Inquilab zindabad” and were seen carrying the Tricolor flag.
