Ravi Shankar Prasad, India’s Telecom Minister, in a response to a question asked in Lok Sabha said that India had sufficient spectrum to launch 5G services in the country. Broadband India Forum, on the other hand, is of the opinion that it is not enough.

  2. The combined value given by TRAI of the unsold spectrum randing from 700 MH to 3600 Mhz is INR 4.9 lakh crores.

  3. Telecom companies have pointed out that the price of the spectrum on sale is very high. TRAI proposed INR 492 crore per MHz.

  4. Department of Telecommunication is expecting the launch of 5G services in 2020, whereas a recent study by Ericsson suggested that India should expect 5G services from 2022.
