NCP leader Sharad Pawar, in an interview, said that PM Modi had extended a hand to work with NCP, to which Pawar had refused. He claimed that his daughter, MP Supriya Sule had an offer for a ministerial position in the BJP cabinet.
Crux of the Matter
Sharad Pawar and PM Narendra Modi met on the backdrop of the discussions held regarding farmers’ issues. During this meeting, PM Modi had asked Pawar to work together given Pawar’s political experience, said the NCP leader Pawar.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had insisted on working together with me, as on some issues we have similar opinions. But I refused his offer. …our personal relations are good and they would continue to be, but our working together is not politically possible.” said Pawar.
On the 250th session of Rajya Sabha, Modi praised the NCP and its leader Pawar stating that other parties should learn lessons from the NCP on following the parliamentary norms.
Pawar has also reciprocated from time to time by stating that he would not oppose the ruling party just for the sake of opposition and that his cooperation would be there in the right matters.
