Crux of the Matter
Ex-Finance Minister Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI for his involvement in the INX Media Corruption Case.
He was later arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for involvement in a money-laundering case.
He was visited by his Congress Counterparts, former PM Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tiwari as well.
Chidambaram was denied bail and his custodial remand was extended till 11th December. He has been in jail for 100 days now.
