Two Indian Soldiers Martyred in Pakistani Infiltration near PoK

Two Indian Army soldiers were martyred during a gunfight against Pakistani infiltrators who entered into Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The infiltration was carried out only a day after New Army Chief Naravane made a statement on changing India’s response on cross-border terrorism to a stronger one.


Crux of the Matter


  1. Indian Army Operation started when the soldiers noticed activity near the forest cover at Khari Thrayat in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistani infiltrators, who were heavily armed, were trying to enter India.

  2. Indian Army tracked the location of the infiltrators in Khari Thrayat and started a search operation.

  3. The infiltrators started heavy firing on Indian troops. In the fierce gun battle near the Nowshera sector, two Indian soldiers got hit by bullets and attained martyrdom. A few soldiers got injured in the gunfight.

  4. The Operation is undergoing.

  5. Recently, the Indian Army had averted a major terror attack on LoC by timely defusion of Improvised Explosive Device (IED). Meanwhile, the newly appointed Army Chief, Mukund Naravane had also talked about adopting a strict stance towards cross-border terrorism.
