Uddhav Thackeray to be Sworn-in as CM on 28th November

In a series of dramatic political events in Maharashtra, after Devendra Fadnavis resigned just after 3 days; the coalition of Shiv Sena-NCP-INC formally called Maha Vikas Aghadi has consensus on Uddhav Thackeray as their CM face who will take oath on 28th November 2019 at Shivaji Park.


Crux of the Matter


  1. Delegation of coalition leaders met governor BS Koshyari to stake claim to form the government.

  2. Governor gave Uddhav Thackeray time till December 3 to provide a letter showing majority support and six-months time to get elected in assembly.

  3. Only Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn-in as the Chief Minister as there is an on-going discussion on the distribution of the cabinet portfolios.

  4. As per SC verdict, BJP’s Kalidas Kolambkar has been appointed as the pro-tem speaker of Maharashtra assembly who will administer the oath to all MLA’s on 27th November.

  5. After resigning Ajit Pawar met NCP President Sharad Pawar and is expected to support the three-party alliance.
