Crux of the Matter
Since the abrogation of Article 370 by the Indian Government, Pakistan and China have been trying to internationalise the issue.
China, backed by Pakistan, had called for a closed consultation of the UN Security Council to censure India.
India announced its plans to return normalcy to Jammu and Kashmir while stressing that Art 370 was an internal matter.
Majority of the 15 member council supported India’s position and declined from making a statement on the issue.

Article 370 of the Indian constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, allowing it to have a separate constitution, a state flag and autonomy over the internal administration of the state. The government of India revoked this special status in August 2019 through a Presidential Order and the passage of a resolution in Parliament. More Info
